For the 2018-19 school year, the Model UN program returned to Clyde High School. We limited the participants to only those who were in the program at MMS, and we had a delegation of 11 students representing Sudan and Cameroon.
Pictured to the left is our delegation.
Representing Cameroon in blue skirts (girls) and brown pants (boys) are: Front Row: Nikki Hagemeyer, Casey Ungerer, Dillon Liskai, Maizie Meyer and Elise Hill Back Row: Autumn Billow (far right). Representing Sudan (dressed in all black) are: Breanna Dearth (Front Row) Ridley Sabo, Emily Kennedy, Cassie Meggitt, and McKenzie Wadsworth. |
CameroonCameroon's resolution focused on cooperating with Google and the Endangered Language Project and using the UN in an effort to digitize and catalogue the languages of the tribes of Africa.
Below you can see their presentation to the small council as well as their resolution.

SudanThe delegation from Sudan focused on the humanitarian issue of birth registration in Africa. They were looking to use the United Nations to help coordinate troops and humanitarians to travel throughout Africa to educate people and register them as citizens in their country.

I also wanted to recognize our "original members" back from when MMS restarted the Model UN program. While Elise has been in the program each year, we have missed Cassie and McKenzie when they went to CHS and waited for the program to restart.
